About Nancy
I grew up on a farm in southern Wisconsin. I began writing for my own enjoyment at an early age, as the picture below attests. I have a B.A. in history from the Unviersity of Wisconsin-Whitewater and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wisconsin law school. I live in Madison and have been employed by the State of Wisconsin for many years.
I truly enjoy the process of writing. I love thinking up plot lines and figuring out who does what to whom. I love words. I relish creating scenes that transport the reader into the heart of the action. I think there is perhaps just a touch of Walter Mitty in me. One of the things I enjoy most about writing fiction is that I can create my own little universe, fill it with characters of my choosing, and then manipulate those characters into doing and saying whatever I want.
In my spare time I am an avid reader and enjoy traveling, particularly to historic sites. I am also a classic car buff and am the co-owner of a 1928 Packard.
